The weather in Denver is dicey. Tornado Warnings, rotation, hail. And yet in Greeley? Scattered showers. Nothing exciting ever happens in Greeley.
If you want excitement in Greeley, you have to manufacture it yourself. Since I can't control the weather (shout out to Ororo), I'll have to make do with my new PSP, the most exciting thing to happen to me since Lisa (but for VERY different reasons...)
Now, I bet you are wondering, how did a poor, but still very good looking college student like me procure the notably pricey PSP?
Simple, I sold my soul to the Devil, and took advantage of my local game store's trade in policies. I traded everything in my collection that was deemed nonessential, and exploited every trade-in credit loop hole in order to squeak by and come home with a PSP and three games.
There were casualties, and those who will be missed. My PS2, my first foray into Next-Gen gaming is gone, as is the grand-daddy of them all, my Nintendo 64. Perhaps the hardest old friend to part with was my GameBoy Advance SP. Our time together was all too short.
But everytime I start to pine for my lost systems, all I have to do is slide on the sleek, black power button on my new sleek, black best friend and I am reminded that my sacrifices were all worth it.
Simply put, the PSP is the most beautiful piece of technology I have ever laid my grubby hands on. I could ramble on and on about it, but I don't want to bore the both of you. Let's just say that I have been excited for the PSP since I first heard rumors after last year's E3, and after having all of that time for my desires to simmer, you would think that all that could happen is that it would not live up to my expectations.
That is wrong, it meets, and exceeds them.
Nothing is perfect, but the PSP is closest.
When I get back in the swing of things enough to post some weekly reviews expect to read more about everything PSP.
Perhaps the most exciting feature of the PSP is that is is compatible with my current model of girlfriend. Lisa has been known to steal a few moments playing the WONDERFUL puzzle game Lumines. That's right, Lisa played a video game, by choice. The PSP is that powerful. She's even going to take it with her when she goes to Nebraska wrangling hormonal divas... and her sister (who is both hormonal, and a diva, but never at the same time).
And now, even as I type, the skies are getting darker in Greeley, so maybe there is so excitement coming down the bend yet. Its mother nature vs. the PSP, and my money is on Sony.
