Lest the Circle Be Unbroken

Well kids, its been fun, but the ride is over. Today is the day the music died. And by "music" I mean "this blog, Sancho's Island"; and by "died", I mean "became no longer updated." That's right, I am officially closing Sancho's Island. I have to admit, I'm a little said, it has been a fun ride. I learned a lot by having this site, and I think overall, it has been a great experience and I am very, very proud of all the work I have done here.

But, as in life, though some things end, others soon begin. In that vein, although this blog is now closed I am VERY excited to announce that I have just launched a new, even better, website.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I am proud to introduce: jeremydennis.net!

That's right, I have claimed my domain and made an official home for myself on the net. jeremydennis.net will be everything Sancho's Island was, and more. I decided to drop the Sancho moniker and expose myself to the world (have fun with that visual!). Having my own space on a server and my own domain name offer me a lot more freedom than being hosted on Blogger did. I am very eager to explore such freedoms. Head on over to my new site and take this new ride with me.

As my last thoughts on the Island, I want to thank the three or four of you that have read this site, especially Lisa. Without you guys, I really would have no reason to do this, and no motivation to reach for loftier web and writing goals. jeremydennis.net is an example of both such goals, and without you, I could have never got there.

Thanks Everyone!

Especially you, Lisa!

A Special Announcement

This Blog will be closed until September 1st, 2005. On that day however, be prepared for big news. I'm talking Jabba The Hutt sized news.

See you Then!

Weasley is my King

Don't expect much activity here from me for the next day or so. I am about 250 pages away from finishing the 5th Harry Potter book. This is the first time I've read it. Yes, I've had it since it came out. No, I don't know why I'm such an idiot and haven't read it until now. Every drop of my free time (which isn't in excess) is going to be spent finishing it, so entertain yourselves.

Slaves to the Lens

Today was a beautiful day, so to take advantage of such weather, me and Lisa decided it was time to head off to the park and indulge in our narcissistic photography fetish, and take pictures of ourselves. As usual, I hated all of the remotely serious ones of me. You can see the two decidedly non-seriously ones of me on my newly updated About Me page.

Lisa, on the other hand, is so photogentic that it's a shame she's not a celebrity, because even the paparazzi shots of her would look stellar.

Here are a few of my favorite shots of her. (Click on any of them to enlarge them.)

Now, I have always dabbled in photography as a bit of a hobby, but I am not that serious of a photographer. With a subject as good as Lisa however, she makes even my amateur snapshots look like art. Because that's what it's really all about.

Making me look good.

The Death Toll Rises

Coming back to the world of responsibility comes at a price. Not only has the amount of victims on the missing DVD list (from the gypsy thieves incident, more details on that in a bit) risen, but a very special member of the family has fallen ill.

The PSP broke.

I don't know how it happened, but it's deader than John F Kennedy Jr. (What, too soon?)I went to show it off to some friends, and it choked like the '78 Red Sox. Long story short, it is currently on its way back to the Official Sony PSP Fixing Place.

In other Jeremy-used-to-have-cool-stuff-but-now-it's-gone news, last night, when Lisa's sister was up here and we were in the middle of our long and involved process of picking out what movies to watch, some more movies were noticed missing, including the now out-of-print two disc Uber Edition of Fight Club.

Sad day for Jeremy. Send your prayers.. and gifts of free movies.

I'm serious, I want my movies back.

Chop, chop!
